Ideally the paint splattered effect would be down the whole of the left side of the basket ball player but by the time the arm was complete it was just a case of repeating the same step over and over again and I felt that I wouldn't learn anything else from doing this.

Using a *spirograph* tutorial. I used what I learnt to create these patterns. I then played around with the idea of repetition and tiles.

Following the first tutorial, this is what I managed to produce. This isn't an image I'm likely to produce normally, but I think that's probably going to be a recurring theme throughout these tutorials.

The purpose of this blog;

Last year, my lack of knowledge of how to successfully use software really held me back. This is why learning how to use this tool has become one of my main aims. The way I've started to approach this is by attempting to complete tutorials. This is something I plan to continue doing throughout the year, and hopefully soon I won't be fully useless.
